Week 5

During this week we learnt how to use more lighting affects in 3ds max as shown below.



with Darren we went through dvd menu's and what they contain, the different extras on them how they are set out and also how to create a dvd menu to access all these different parts.

During self study session I started creating and designing a part of terrain for my movie concept art, I used 3ds max and created a basic mountain as shown below.

This week I created some sketches for my development stages in my sketch book I also done more research on web designs for fantasy sites.

Week 3

During this week I presented my sketch book to Steve and showed him what I had done so far, at this point I had done some initial ideas for my characters and some 3d terrain ones, but nothing final. I had also completed most of my research for the different characters which separate the genres of Sci-Fi and Fantasy.

Week 2

This week we started looking at macromedia dreamweaver the programme which I would be creating the website in which my work will be presented. I looked over the ones from my research and created a few really rough designs of my own without much detail just placement of the different features of the site pages. We also looked at the structure of websites and how I would lay mine out.







In my sketch book I started looking at science fiction concept art and films, again creating images as I went along.

Week 1

This week I started my sketch book, I done research into fantasy first by looking at concept art and films which inspire me. I also did some practice character designs that came into my head from doing my research some are in the sketch book others on paper that I just had on me during times I had a burst of inspiration.















During week 1 I also went through a selection of sites given to me and commented on them (as shown below) this was to give me an idea on how to make mine.

Introduction

This blog I have set up to show the progress I make week by week, the assignment which this blog will be following me through is to make a Movie concept in either the genre's science fiction or fantasy. The film must be animated and be of my own work, I have to create a selection of development 2d and 3d images until I come to my final designs for Characters, Environment/Terrain, Weapons etc.. During each week there will be evidence of work done whilst in lectures that we have been set to improve my drawing and to help me with research and other parts of the project.
